1. Convert your words into binary
Start by converting each of your 24 BIP39 words into their binary equivalent (11 bits per word).

2. Mark the plate
Each word corresponds to one line on your plate, from 1 to 24.
For every word:
- Each square represents one binary bit
- A β1β = punch the square
- A β0β = leave it empty
Work carefully from left to right for each line.
3. Punch the metal
Insert the tip into the punch tool, align it with the correct square, and press firmly until you feel the click.
If needed, repeat to deepen the mark and ensure long-term readability.
Take your time. Precision matters.
4. Verify your encoding
Before storing your plate, double-check everything:
- Each word matches its binary pattern
- Each line contains exactly 11 bits
- No missing or extra marks
A single mistake can make recovery impossible.
5. Store it safely
Your Satona plate is designed to resist:
